The challenge

Prototyping resources are often scattered across different platforms, websites and word-of-mouth networks. For beginners, this makes it difficult to understand which lab to use, which technique is right for their project, and how to prepare before getting there. The challenge was to turn this fragmented ecosystem into a simple, accessible experience that could guide users from exploration to making.

My contribution

I worked across UX/UI design, shaping the experience from early research and user journeys to the final high-fidelity prototype. I explored how to structure a community-driven catalogue of prototyping resources, designed the information architecture and interaction flows, and translated them into a consistent mobile interface.

Outcome

The project resulted in a high-fidelity mobile prototype that was tested with students and makers, receiving positive feedback for its potential to simplify learning and access to prototyping resources. Kreo was showcased at Deadline Festival 2024 in Milan, where it also received feedback from members of the FabLab community.
